I work in a similar area - one that surgeons quite often blame for problems (but the reality is quite often not as they see it). I am a biomedical technician (qualified electronics engineer) working at a mainly cardio-thoracic hospital. My main areas of expertise are such items as Heart lung bypass systems Intra aortal balloon pumps Artificial hearts of various types (including the new australian non-pulsatile). I also look after Cardiac patient bedside and telemetry monitoring, defibrillators, infusion pumps, syringe drivers, electro surgical units and my biggest time user - I am looking after (cal, repair, safety testing) about 3,000 BiPAP and CPAP units. Last year I worked about 1,000 hours overtime. I apply the highest standards, i run the manufacturers specs and divide the tolerance as close as technically possible, I learn the equipments ebb and flow, nuances, learn it's problems and moods. Ex army (demolitions, booby traps, minefields, bridges, marksman ), ex-RAAF (aviation electronics, nav systems, comms systems, radar systems), electrical standards laboratory, television transmitter tech, video games repair, automotive engine analysis equipment cal and repair. I apply this to most of what i do. I hate sleep, I sleep about 4-5 hours a day. I like to refine and learn things (I once frequented the engineering library at the local U to learn as much as I could about supercharging, gas flow and flkuid dynamics). This helped me build my own supercharge mini cooper (this was in 1985). I had an 850Kg road/race car with 165HP & 120lb/ft of torque, a top of 237KPH and 1/4 mile of 14.8 seconds). Carbon fibre/titanium pushrods, ceramic lined head & topped pistons, controlled vortex exhaust system, sprintex supercharger, 30 degree valves with anti-reversion grooves, modified gearbox, differential cam, limited slip differential, modified anti torque steer drive shafts, deseamed body, reduced weight, live rear axle, adjustable koni dampers all round. Today i could build the same without the supercharger, but new technology. These same traits are utilised to analyse and interpret the characteristics of any "system" - including this indicator. The only mod I use is the Stochastic, This - if used intelligently, gives an indication of the strength of the time base movements (like the terms in a fourier series). I find they are of use up to about 10 time units for future movements. However they need to be used in unison, my ultimate aim would be 12 months of 200%- might be a hard call as I need to sleep and work at the moment, and my account is rather small at the moment, and will be for a while yet. So if I can average 100% I'd be happy. The other item I want to get enough $ to buy is the Koenigsegg CCX-R however (as usual) I want to modify the engine to change it's characteristics to what I want, so that could be a big process - base cost $1.8 mil. I need to get David Vizard to bring the motor into line, cost - oh another 250K I reckon. Top speed 417KPH, 0-100 around 2 seconds, acceleration 1.3g, deceleration 1.5g (max) motor supercharged V8 just over 1000hp mass about 1200kg. I like the M3 as well(I currently run a 2005 BMW Mini Cooper with a few minor mods) Want to know any more, just ask. I work very precisely, I play very precisely (one has to at 200-300KPH)
