Regional Express
I have been accumulating REX in my personal portfolio from 80s upwards. My work requires me flying to the outbacks in Australia serviced by REX and Qantas and i can assure you the flight is always full. Qantas will not be able to compete on these routes – too expensive, no direct flights, infrequent flights. REX has a monopoly and with the resurgence of the mining industry (may take years), I am sure REX will do well long term. Downside is: lack of growth, loss of pilots (the economic crisis will take care of this as major airlines cut more jobs).
